Public safety is Charles Allen’s top priority, despite what propaganda you may hear online.

Forcing all DC taxpayers to fund a costly recall election isn’t going to improve the quality of life in DC. It won’t stop crime. With the expensive cost of the recall it is important to consider that Ward 6 could be without a representative on the DC council for up to four months. What impact could that have on our neighborhoods and local business?

There is simply no burning reason to push a recall ahead of his next election. If community members were so outraged, why didn’t anyone run against Charles in 2022?

Rather, let’s focus on finding ways to work together to build a stronger, more united community. We are a real grassroots campaign, stepping up to stop this expensive recall in Ward 6.

Here’s some of what Charles Allen has done for Ward 6 and DC:

• Expanded MPD’s annual Police Cadet pipeline from 15 to 150 new recruits
• Established a $25K signing bonus for new officers (during a nationwide police shortage), slowing the rate of retirements
• Incentivized senior officers to stay on the force instead of retiring
• Led the Council in approving Metropolitan Police Department budgets over $500 million per year.

Charles has also passed laws to:

• Ban “ghost guns”
• Increase penalties for dangerous automatic weapons
• Create DC’s “Red Flag Laws” to get guns off our streets
• Establish the first Office of Gun Violence Prevention

In addition, Charles secured nearly $1 billion to modernize Ward 6 schools, parks, libraries and recreation centers. He’s leading efforts to save Metro, get dangerous drivers off our streets and make government more transparent and accountable.

Charles is an accessible Member of the DC Council and thoughtfully cares about his constituents and all of DC.
